This contract is for a client in Bracknell working alongside Specialist Cutting Services Ltd. They needed the stair core removed as quick as possible without using equipment that would cause vibration due to there being an underground car parks adjacent to the site. As you can see, we’ve core drilled several 150mm holes using our Hilti Great Britain DD350 for lifting points. We then track saw cut horizontal first, then vertically 2nd using the Hilti TS20. This allowed the excavator to attach the chains to the section for removal before we finished our last vertical cut. This reduced the risk of falling debris as these blocks are a ton in weight, staying well under the safe working load of the machine. The cut line was such that it left a small upstand with which the client would break out… as you can see in the photo. This is so that they can re-join the new reinforcement steel to the existing foundation steel using couplers, avoiding the extra cost of drilling and resin fixing into the base slab. Thanks to Specialist Cutting Services Ltd for their prompt response in assisting us with this project, as time is definitely money on this one!
