Fast and efficient removal of concrete slab using wire sawing method
We’ve used the Wire saw to carry out this contract at Luscombe House. This project is for 3 new multimillion pound houses in the Sandbanks area of Poole.
Our sister company Woodmace Concrete Structures Ltd constructed the concrete frame, one of many projects that they carry out for various clients around the south.
The section in these images needed removing due alterations in design. We were able to use the wire saw to carry out the removal of concrete in this particular operation.
We did have the option of using a track saw and handheld equipment, but in the end opted for the best method as noise was an issue due to the surrounding residential area.
Our trained operatives core drilled a horizontal hole at the back of the slab which allows the wire to fed through and joined together. That gives the wire saw the option to cut vertical and horizontal as you can see.
We removed the block of concrete using the on site tower crane, utilising our own operatives as they are trained slinger signallers. This we hold this qualification, we can assist in the lifting operations which helps our client in the long run.
We can offer this to our customers as an all round package, saving time and money. This keeps it safe, simple and very effective for you the customer.
We’ve also used various other concrete removal methods for our client on this particular site. They include Diamond and Percussive Drilling, and Ring sawing or the reinforced frame.
